SMS Terms — Compliance Notifications
Last updated September 2026
These SMS Terms apply only to the Safer Highways Inc Compliance Notifications text-messaging program. They are separate from our Terms of Service: you can use the Safer Highways Inc portal without ever agreeing to receive text messages. Consent to receive texts is voluntary and is not a condition of employment, of any purchase, or of using any Safer Highways Inc service.
Program name: Safer Highways Inc Compliance Notifications.
Program description: Transactional account notifications sent to enrolled drivers and carrier safety contacts: requests to upload an expiring DOT document with a secure link, a follow-up reminder if the document is not received, requests to electronically sign a compliance document, and alerts when a driver or vehicle document is within 7 days of expiring. No marketing messages are sent.
How to opt in: Consent is given directly by the mobile subscriber. Drivers may opt in at saferconnected.com/text-alerts by entering their own mobile number and checking an optional, unchecked-by-default consent box (the form can be submitted without checking it and without a phone number), or by texting START to our number, or by replying YES to a one-time opt-in invitation. In every case we send one confirmation text and no compliance messages are sent until the subscriber replies YES (double opt-in). Employers cannot opt a driver in on their behalf; they may only ask us to send the driver the opt-in invitation. Carrier contacts opt in by enabling "Expiration text alerts" and entering their own mobile number in their portal profile.
Message frequency: Up to 4 messages per month, depending on your compliance activity.
Message and data rates may apply. Check with your wireless carrier for details of your plan.
How to opt out: Reply STOP to any message to cancel. You will receive one confirmation text and no further messages. Reply START to re-subscribe.
Help: Reply HELP to any message for program information, or contact support@thesaferteam.com.
Sample messages: "Safer Highways Inc: Reply YES to confirm you agree to receive DOT compliance texts… Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help." · "ABC Trucking: please send a photo of your DOT medical card (expires 2026-07-01). Tap to upload: [link] Reply STOP to opt out."
Supported carriers: Major U.S. carriers including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon and others. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
See our Privacy Policy for how mobile information is handled. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
